Where healing begins

About me

I am Julie Cagle, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Melissa McGee, MA, LPC-S. I work with adults who feel overwhelmed by trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions and are tired of feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but internally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or struggling to make sense of painful past experiences. They want relief, clarity, and a greater sense of safety within their own minds and bodies but may not know where to begin.

A significant focus of my clinical work is trauma, PTSD, and complex trauma. My experience in PHP/IOP settings and private practice has allowed me to work with adults whose past experiences continue to affect their emotions, relationships, sense of safety, and view of themselves. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that many patterns of thinking, coping, and responding developed as ways to survive, protect, or adapt to painful experiences.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) serves as the primary framework for my work. I also integrate skills and strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) based on each client’s individual needs. Together, we work to better understand the connection between past experiences and present-day patterns, develop compassion for the ways you learned to cope and survive, strengthen emotional regulation, and create more space between painful thoughts, memories, emotions, and the choices you make today.

What makes my work unique is my ability to create a calm, grounded, and supportive space where clients feel deeply seen without judgment. Therapy is not about erasing your story or pretending painful experiences did not happen. It is about helping you understand your experiences differently, recognize your strengths, build practical tools, and feel less controlled by what has happened to you.

Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and paced to meet you where you are. We will work together to reconnect you with your values, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be emotionally, mentally, and relationally while honoring your story, respecting your strengths, and supporting the life you want to build.
